Unite behind President Mahama – Asiedu urges NDC members

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has called on members of the party to remain united and fully support President John Dramani Mahama as he continues to deliver on the party’s promises to Ghanaians.

Speaking during his thank you tour at Abotakyi in the Akuapem North Constituency of the Eastern Region on Thursday, September 18, the NDC Chairman urged members to set aside personal ambitions and internal disagreements for the greater good of the party and the country.

“In what way can we ensure the party is not put to shame? We will be ashamed if we are unable to fulfill our promises,” he noted. “Fortunately, we have a good president who has already begun delivering on those promises.”

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah highlighted the progress made under President Mahama’s leadership, stressing that while significant strides have been achieved, more work lies ahead to bring the party’s full vision to life. He emphasized that this could only be realized if members rallied behind the president and worked together with one common purpose.

“What remains is for us to be united as a party and throw our weight behind him so he can complete the task,” he added.

The NDC Chairman cautioned against complacency and warned that internal divisions and infighting could jeopardize the party’s efforts and tarnish its reputation. According to him, unity is the bedrock of political success, and without it, the party’s objectives may falter.

“If we fail to do that—if we start fighting and creating division simply because we didn’t get what we wanted—then when things go wrong, all of us will be affected,” he cautioned.

The thank you tour formed part of the party’s broader engagement strategy to solidify its support base in the Eastern Region and to reassure members of the leadership’s commitment to delivering on campaign promises.
