The Upper East Regional Security Council has temporarily banned the riding of motorbikes in the Binduri district over recent killings in Bawku.

The Upper East Regional Security Council has temporarily banned the riding of motorbikes in the Binduri district over recent killings in Bawku.

According to the security council in a statement dated Monday, January 29, the decision was made during an emergency meeting on Monday, January 22, 2024, following recent records of killings in the Bawku and the Binduri districts.

The statement also revealed that due to the recent killings, REGSEC decided to restrict the curfew hours in Bawku from 8:00pm to 5:00pm to 6:00pm to 6:00am and urged District Security Council in the Binduri area to enforce the directive.
