US General, Michael Langley, the head of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) has spoken out against Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traore’s leadership style.

According to him, Ibrahim Traore is a threat to his own people with claims that he is using the country’s gold reserves for his personal gain rather than national benefit.

This controversial statements were made during a recent US Senate hearing where Langley accused the Military leader of diverting the country’s reserves for personal security.

He emphasizes how Traore had diverted national resources for his own security interests prompting various local media outlet to unleash their displeasure on the US Senate.

Some experts believe that the accusation leveled by the US General could further isolate the current administration, while others suggest it might serve as a catalyst for broader reforms within the country.
