The US Embassy, through its Public Affairs Sector, donated books to the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) in Accra on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

The delegation, led by Ms. Jennifer Green, Cultural Associate of the Embassy, presented the books to the Administrator of GAW, Mr. Ebo Assan Donkoh at the GAW Secretariat located at PAWA House, Roman Ridge.

Ms. Jennifer Green stated that the essence of the donation was to encourage reading among young people, especially Senior High School (SHS) students.

She commended GAW’s effort to promote reading among students and urged the Association on.

“It is my hope that these books, particularly ‘Becoming’ reach female students,” she stated.

Mr Donkoh, upon receiving the books on behalf of the Association, appreciated the kind gesture and assured the US Embassy delegation that the books will be donated to GAW Literary Clubs in SHSs.

He continued that, with an arrangement in place to establish the next GAW Literary Club at St. Monica’s Girls’ SHS in Ashanti Mampong, the Club will be privileged to receive the first donation of “Becoming” on November 11, 2021.
