The manager of the Court Complex building in Accra has issued a circular disclosing that used condoms, sanitary pads, sachet water bags, other solid items blocking the sewage lines.
According to him, the solid materials make it difficult for other faecal waste to go through the lines into the soak-away.
He, therefore cautioned staff and visitors in and around the complex to desist from putting solid wastes and other foreign materials into the sewage systems.
“In recent times we have experienced blockages in our sewage lines as a result of the disposal of waste. Sachet water bags, used sanitary towels wrapped in polythene bags, used condoms and used paper hand towels were all found in the sewage lines.”
“Please take note that these items are to be disposed off by placing them in the dustbins provided in the washrooms.” The circular stated
