The Volta Regional GNFS swiftly responded at 11:16 hours to a distress call about a collision between an Isuzu pickup with registration number GS 3468-17 and a saloon car with registration number GE 1056-16 on the Matse–Vane road in Ho Municipality.
The GNFS crew, led by STNO II Segbedzi Michael, reached the scene at 11:24 hours, rescuing four (4) victims from the saloon car including the driver, who was unresponsive and two (2) from the Isuzu pickup before handing them over to the Ambulance Service for treatment.
The Ho Municipal Fire Commander, DO II Seth Tay, and other senior officers were on-site to support the rescue team and ensure effective scene management. Sadly, the saloon car driver perished on the spot, and the body was handed over to the Police for autopsy and further investigation. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
