GNACOPS begin supply of 200,000 laptops for private school teachers

The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) in partnership with Celtel Networks Limited and P2S Ghana limited is providing internet connectivity with the highest speed to all private schools and teachers in Ghana to boost educational delivery.

The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) in partnership with Celtel Networks Limited and P2S Ghana limited is providing internet connectivity with the highest speed to all private schools and teachers in Ghana to boost educational delivery.

This project is also aimed at distributing 200,000 laptops with routers to the teachers for them to use three years (36) months to pay.

It also includes installing one million educational tablets in classrooms for all the students in Private Schools will connect them to a global education platform such as CISCO, Facebook, Google.

This nationwide WiFi connectivity in private education is a major significant change to bring a greater height to the educational system.

As part of the National tour organized by the council, the project is being launched today, August 2, 2021 at Janet Educational Complex in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to the Executive Director of GNACOPS, Mr Enoch Kwasi Gyetuah, he said the world today is gradually using the internet for the benefit of mankind and almost all enterprises and disciplines use the internet to their greater advantage.

Base on this the council decided to tap into the digital space to develop both the private school teacher and student because businesses and other companies are leveraging on this product.

He said education today demands the utilization of the global platform to help meet the standards set for it.

“The use of the numerous technological platforms such as the google, CISCO, zoom applications to mention a few, require tools such as laptops, tablets and internet accessibility thus why we as players in championing private education in the country wants for our members,” he stated.

He said many due to the high cost of these important tools, a lot of people, especially private school teachers and students find it difficult to use them to their advantage.

The programme is such that interested private school teachers would have to pay a monthly subscription of GH¢94.50pessewas for three years or 36 months.
