The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has disclosed, there is an increase in job scams using a new approach approach and tactics.
In a presser, the authority indicated that, it has received at least 15 reports with victims losing over GH₵124,000.
The authority cited scammers posing as recruiters and advertisers for high paying job roles that requires performing digital task such as liking posts on social media and giving referrals to friends among others.
CSA in the presser took the opportunity to caution the general public not to fall victim to these scams.
“Always verify job advertisement directly with the company’s official website or contact information. Avoid relying solely on communication through email or instant messaging”, portion of the release stated.
CSA urged the citizens to remain vigilant and be cautious of unsolicited messages.
