A fetish priestess who resides in Gyahadzie, a suburb of Winneba in the Central region, has raised concern about the pace at which today’s youngsters engage in social vices such as theft.
In an interview with Atinka Tv, the disgruntled fetish priestess whose bag containing her phone and money was stolen during the Aboakyir festival cursed the culprit.
“I come from Gyahadzie, and I am Okomfobaa. Someone has stolen my phone, my bag and money. If the person refuses to return my items, he or she will die.” She noted
It is evident in most indigenous Ghanaian societies that stealing from the shrine or taking anything belonging to a fetish priest is forbidden, yet criminals nowadays know no bounds.
There is undeniable evidence that most human communities in Africa, including Ghana, have a system of taboos that govern what is good and evil, right and wrong.
A violation of the code is viewed as morally bad conduct since it damages the social order and tranquillity of that society. It has been noticed that several ancient virtues are comparable to biblical virtues.
