A new national poll by Global Info Analytics for July 2023 has revealed that voters in fourteen (14) out of the sixteen [16] regions believe the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot “Break the 8” in the 2024 general elections.
The two regions with voters believing the NPP can win the 2024 elections are the North East and the Upper East recording 58% and 43% of the total sample space respectively.
The poll also revealed that voters in the Ashanti and Bono regions were being caught up in two minds.
According to the data, 40% of voters in the Ashanti region say the NPP can break the eight, 39% believe they can not break the eight come 2024 and 31% were not sure.
For the Bono region, 48% of the voters also believe the NPP can break the eight, with 49% saying no while 3% were also not sure.
However, the New Patriotic Party is yet to elect a flagbearer to lead the party in the 2024 general elections.
Candidates seeking to lead the party are; Vice President Dr. Bawumia, former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyeremanten, former Agriculture Minister, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Joe Ghartey, former General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a former MP for Offinso North, Dr. Kofi Konada Apraku, a former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, Kwadwo Poku and Francis Addai-Nimoh.
