The Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai Police Command has arrested the matron Nyamadi Benedicta and a cook at Awaso STEM Senior High school in the Western Region for stealing foodstuffs meant for the school.
They are said to have transported large quantities of the foodstuffs to a private residence at Atronsu.
According to reports, the police, acting on intelligence from the office of the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Sebastian Obeng arrested the duo who allegedly stole items including bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, tins of tomatoes, boxes of milk, bag of sugar and quantities of maize, millet, gari and other essential foodstuffs.
The items have been retrieved while the suspects are being kept in custody as investigations continue.
