W/R: Man arrested for stabbing gold dealer at Wasa-Dunkwa

Yaw Acheampong has been arrested by Asankrangwa District Police Command for mercilessly stabbing one Frincon Salifu at Wasa-Dunkwa in the Amenfi-West Municipality.

Yaw Acheampong has been arrested by Asankrangwa District Police Command for mercilessly stabbing one Frincon Salifu at Wasa-Dunkwa in the Amenfi-West Municipality.

According to the brief facts read by the prosecutor, Inspector Charles Normasinu at the Asankrangwa District Magistrate Court, the victim, Salifu on 25th May, 2022, went to sell gold at Wasa-Dunkwa but unfortunately he had an altercation with the workers at the gold shop.

Report says, Salifu was beaten up at the gold shop and sensing danger, he ran away from the gold shop to a nearby restaurant.

According to the report, Yaw Acheampong alleging that someone has stolen his GH¢3000 accused and stabbed the victim severally on the head, chest, back and the left hand.

When he realised that the victim was unconscious, he bolted. The victim was rushed to Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital by the owner of the restaurant and some customers present.

By the intelligence of police, Yaw Acheampong was arrested and brought before court of which he pleaded guilty at Asankrangwa District Magistrate Court presided over by H/W Augustine Fiifi Domful.

The accused has been ordered to be kept in police custody and appear before court on 21st June, 2022 for his sentence.
