The Western Central Regional Police Command is set to arraign Daniel Yeboah before court on Monday, August 4, 2025, following his arrest for allegedly trafficking suspected narcotics.
Yeboah was intercepted by officers of the Asankragwa Divisional Police Command at the Samreboi–Tanokrom snap checkpoint on July 31, 2025. He was onboard a commercial tricycle, commonly known as a “Pragia,” when he was found in possession of two traveling bags containing 66 compressed parcels believed to be Indian hemp.

During initial questioning, the suspect stated that the items were given to him by a woman in Wenchi, with instructions to deliver them to her at Mumuni Camp near Samreboi. He further claimed that he received GH₵5,000 as payment for the delivery.
Following the arrest, police immediately initiated investigations aimed at identifying and apprehending the woman believed to be behind the consignment. Intelligence efforts are currently underway to locate her and gather more information.
The Western Central Regional Police Command is appealing to the public to assist in the investigation by providing any relevant information that could lead to the arrest of the said woman or shed light on the case.
