The Ghana Police Service has interdicted one of its officers for assault in Takoradi, Western Region.
The officer, identified as № 49187 General Corporal Wise Bessey, was stationed at the Takoradi District Police Command.
As per the Police Service Regulations, the decision has been made to facilitate a comprehensive inquiry into the incident and the police officer’s professional conduct.
The victim has been contacted by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and, the IGP has assured him of the needed Police assistance and a thorough investigation into the incident.
In a statement, they have assured the general public that “the Police will continue to ensure that professionalism is maintained at all times in the discharge of our mandate.”
