MANSAS Company Limited, a contractor firm has reportedly locked up a new classroom block of Sekondi Methodist Senior High School (Annex) due to government’s failure to pay the company.
The facility was awarded to the construction firm by the Ghana Education Trust Fund [GETFund]
The contractor was compelled to lock up the new facility over government’s inability to pay GHc257,000.00 as outstanding payment owed the company.
Sources say the contractor revealed he took a credit facility from the bank and he is debited huge interest each passing day upon default of the contracted arrangement.
The contractor is reported to have informed management of the school to persuade GETFund and for that matter government through the Ministry of Education to have the facility unlocked by processing any outstanding payment owed the company.
