Police in Wassa Dompre have arrested a professional teacher in his 40s after he allegedly butchered one of his students over maize.
The incident, according to information available to myrepubliconline.com occurred on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Wassa Dompre in the Western Region at about 1900hrs.
An eyewitness who spoke to myrepubliconline.com said, four(4) male students in the same school with the teacher allegedly went to the teacher’s maize farm to steal some maize.
Through a tip-off, the teacher hurriedly went to the farm to see for himself the four students being plucking some of the maize
The students, Immediately spotting the teacher, took to their hills while the teacher chases them with his machete.
Three(3) out of the four(4) students were able to run faster than the teacher leaving their colleague behind.
Unfortunately for him, the teacher apprehended him after a hot chase and butchered him.
The teacher is allegedly said to have inflicted deep at the back of the student.
Nearby residents were able to rescue the student after he wailed enough to alarm residents to come to his aid.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Dompre hospital while the suspect (teacher) has been arrested by the Police in Wassa Dompre for investigation.
