A 6-year-old class one pupil at Freeman Methodist Basic school in Kwesiminstim has been smashed and killed by a manganese truck belonging to Western Transport Service.
According to an eyewitness in an interview with Fox FM News, there were three pupils in number trying to cross the highway while school had closed. The after deceased noting that the older one had successfully crossed the road to the other side tried to follow – in the same but was unfortunately landed beneath the middle tyres of the moving truck.
The truck driver, according to the eyewitness account tried all possible means to save her but ended up with the head of the deceased being smashed beyond recognition.
The supporting driver Mr James Amissah also recounted how the unfortunate incident has happened asserting that, it was not the fault of the driver but the child.
He pleaded with the road constructor to construct a zebra crossing at the junction of the school, to prevent future occurrence.
