The Wassa Ateiku community in the Wassa East district of the Western Region is expected to see some developments after the installation of a new Chief of Wassa Ateiku.

Wassa Ateiku the second largest and most populous town in the Wassa East district of the Western region has been deprived of developments for years due to the owing chieftaincy litigation which has lasted for more than 10 devastating years.

In installing the new chief, the Abusuapanin of Wassa Ateiku, Asare Oppong explained that the installation of the chief will pave way for massive developments and economic growth at Wassa Ateiku.

He added that peace and unity will finally prevail and children will move about freely as the new chief is expected to lead and unite the people and bring developments in the area.

The newly installed chief, Nana Katadafour II also appealed to the people of Wassa Ateiku to support him to bring developments in the area.

He added that he would use his authority as the chief to lobby for the construction of a public SHS and nursing training college at Ateiku and also ensure that the high level of unemployment among the youth is reduced in the area.

The chief linguist of the Mampongso Divisional area, Okyiame Kwasi Afful who stood in for the Divisional Chief also called on residents in the diaspora and investors to come back and do business at Ateiku as peace and harmony has been restored.

Residents of Wassa Ateiku also congratulated the abusuapanin for finally installing a new chief to steer the affairs of the community.
