The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has cancelled Physics 1/ 2 and Business Management 1/2 papers over leakage in the ongoing West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The papers, which were supposed to be written today, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 were postponed due to an alleged publication of the questions on social media.
In a press statement sighted by myrepubliconline, the Council said the rewriting of the cancelled papers has been scheduled for Monday, October 11, 2021.
However, the examination body has said Auto Mechanics 2 & 1 will be administered today, 15th September, 2021 at 14:00 hours as scheduled.
As a further step to safeguard the integrity of the examination, the Council has put in place the following measures: Strict internal controls and compliance by all staff to the Security Regulations of the Council and increased inspection and monitoring at the various centres.
WAEC also revealed that it has received an intelligence report with regards to some schools planning to cheat.
According to WAEC, schools such as Ejisu Senior High Technical School, Anlo-Afiadenyigba Senior High School, Tepa Senior High School, Yeji Senior High Technical School, King David College, Somanya and Ideal College, Sunyani will be closely monitored for evidence to validate the claims.
The rest are Christ the King Senior High School, Obuasi, Modern Senior High School, Kpong, Modern Senior High School, Kintampo, Oyoko Methodist Senior High School and Klo Agogo Senior High School.
