The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has announced it will release results for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
In a statement, the examination body said after successfully conducting the examination at 2,023 centres and completing coordinating and marking, it is far advanced with post examination activities and hoping it will release results on the said date.
“The Council urges the public to disregard all information circulating on social media indicating that the results have been released, among others. The target date for the release of results for the BECE for both School and Private Candidates, 2022 is Wednesday, 25th January 2023”, the Council said in the statement
It also added that investigations had been launched into alleged irregularities and malpractices that occurred during and after the conduct of the examination.
The Council further appealed to the affected schools and candidates to urgently collaborate with the investigations in order to meet the January 25 release date.
The public, especially “parents and candidates” were also admonished to “remain calm as the Council works toward the release of the results.”
