Black Princesses of Ghana have progressed into the semi-final stage of the maiden edition of the ongoing WAFU B U-20 tournament.
The Princesses won 3-1 against Ivory Coast in their second game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Ghana’s first goal came on the 14th minute mark in the first half through Maafia Nyame, who rose up high to head home Wasima Mohammed’s delivery into the 18-yard box of the Ivorians.
Yussif Basigi’s side doubled their lead six minutes after with a beautiful goal from the captain of side, Stella Nyamekye.
The Ivorians managed to reduce the deficit in the second half, through Deperou Digbeu on the 54th minute but Mafia NyameKye scored for Ghana again to get her second goal of the afternoon to seal Ghana’s victory.
The Black Princesses now sit on top of group A.
