Hon. Nicholas Amankwah, the Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East, has donated 50 bags of cement towards the renovation of the English and Arabic Basic School in Wassa Akropong in the Amenfi East municipality of the Western Region.

The donation presented by the lawmaker on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, sought to accelerate the renovation of the basic school, which was currently in a poor state after the leadership of the school had called on the MP to support them.

Making the presentation in a short ceremony at the school premises, the Wassa Amenfi East MP, who’s popularly known as Home Boy, said quality education is the most integral component of the development of the community.

The MP said, “It’s been profoundly exciting to donate 50 bags of cement to the Arabic Community school in my beloved constituency.”

Nicholas Amankwah told the media that “the Arabic and English school in Wassa Akropong has been exceedingly impactful in discharging their mandates to the good people of Amenfi East constituency. And I believe this donation will go a long way in helping them complete some of their projects.” He added.

He extended his warmest appreciation to the headteacher, Mr. Raphael Amedome, who received the cement on behalf of the school and all stakeholders.

For his part, Mr. Raphael Amedome, the headteacher of the English and Arabic Basic School in Wassa Akropong, expressed his gratitude to the MP for responding swiftly to their call for support.

Mr. Raphael Amedome, acknowledging the achievements of the MP, has called on the people of Wassa Amenfi East to rally behind the MP in the discharge of his duties to help bring the needed development to the constituency.

He said the 50 bags of cement came at an opportune time and pledged that they would be used for the intended purpose.

The headteacher therefore called on philanthropists and organisations to come to the aid of the school to help improve academic excellence.
