Residents of Wassa Nsadweso in the Wassa East District of the Western Region have clashed with Golden Star Wassa Mine Ltd, leading to the destruction of company property and loss of life.
According to reports, tensions escalated after a young man from the community died following a motorcycle accident involving a vehicle belonging to the mining company. In response, some youth in the area allegedly stormed the premises of the company, causing significant damage to equipment and other valuable assets.
