The Management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), have denied allegations that suggested that they have a campus in Nigeria.
This comes after media reports which circulated on Thursday, January 4, 2023, suggested the National Universities Commission of Nigeria had closed down 58 Universities which were operating in the country including UCC, for violating their Education Act.
However, a statement signed by Director of Public Affairs of the university, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd), stated that “The University of Cape Coast (UCC) does not have any outlet or campus operating in Nigeria neither has it granted franchise to any institution in Nigeria to run its programmes.
All international students, including Nigerians, wishing to study at UCC apply directly to the University for consideration,” part of the statement read.
The University further charged all persons to verify certificates issued to them by any institution purported to be the University of Cape Coast.
“We would entreat all persons and institutions, as we have always done, to, at all times, verify with the university, the authenticity of certificates purported to have been issued by the University of Cape Coast.”
