The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, has called for a collective effort from party members to achieve the party’s goal of transforming Ghana into a prosperous nation.
He made this remark in his acceptance speech after he was endorsed as the running mate of Dr Bawumia by the National Council of the party on Thursday, July 4,2024.
The Energy Minister also promised to support the party and the Dr. Bawumia to break the 8 in the upcoming general election.
“As I assume the role of running mate alongside my esteemed boss, H.E. Dr Bawumia, I am committed to supporting him to prosecute a formidable 2024 campaign to break the 8-year election cycle and serve our beloved country diligently. Let us work together towards a brighter future for Ghana,” he promised.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh further mentioned that the NPP was enriched with numerous astute personalities, therefore, he recognizes the significance of his selection and did not take it lightly and called upon all members of the party to come together to collectively strive to achieve the ambitious goal of transforming Ghana into a prosperous nation.
NAPO expressed his appreciation to President Akufo-Addo, the national council, party executives and party members for their support and reposing confidence in him.
“I thank Mr. President again for the opportunity granted me to serve in two respected cabinet positions.
“I am forever grateful. I am equally grateful to my colleague Ministers of State, and Members of Parliament for the confidence reposed in me,” he added.
