A Supreme Court Justice, Senyo Dzamefe, speaking on behalf of seven newly appointed justices to the Supreme Court of Ghana, has pledged their collective commitment to upholding the rule of law and administering justice without fear or favour.
At the official swearing-in ceremony held at the Jubilee House in Accra, Justice Dzamefe assured the people of Ghana that the new judges would carry out their duties impartially and with integrity.
“We promise to deliver justice to all manner of persons—without fear or favour, ill-will or affection. We also assure the nation of our dedication to justice under the law,” he declared.
Joining him on the bench are Justice Dennis Dominic Adjei, Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh, Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo, Justice Philip Bright Mensah, Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo, and Justice Hafisata Amaleboba.
Their appointments were made in accordance with Article 144(2) of the 1992 Constitution, following a rigorous selection process.
Justice Dzamefe also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the families of the new justices, acknowledging the personal sacrifices behind each appointment.
He shared a personal memory of years of waiting and the emotional toll on his children, who often asked why his name had not appeared on previous nomination lists.
“Today, it is over. Our names are on the list,” he said with emotion, describing the moment as a testament to divine timing.
The ceremony was attended by President John Dramani Mahama, top government officials, members of the judiciary, and relatives of the new appointees.
