In a generous gesture, WEIGAO Medical Ghana Ltd Co has contributed state-of-the-art equipment valued at millions of cedis to Lekma Hospital’s Diabetic Foot and Chronic Wound Treatment Center.
The donation aims to enhance care for diabetic patients seeking treatment for their wounds at the hospital.
During the event’s opening remarks, Qu Hongyin, President of the China Guangdong Second Provincial General Hospital, expressed gratitude to all contributors, including WEIGAO Medical Ghana Ltd Co, as well as the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies, Federation of Shandong Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the China Medical Team, for their unwavering support.
Tang Hong, president of the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies, emphasized the significance of the center as a beacon of hope for individuals affected by these conditions, highlighting the collaborative effort between Lekma Hospital and the Chinese community in Ghana.
“This occasion symbolizes a crucial milestone in our joint commitment to improving healthcare and well-being within our community,” remarked Tang Hong.
“The establishment of the diabetic foot and chronic wound treatment center underscores the urgent need for specialized care in light of the escalating challenge posed by chronic conditions, particularly diabetes.”
In response to the donation, Dr. Akua Gyimah-Asante, the Medical Superintendent of Lekma Hospital, expressed gratitude, highlighting the enduring friendship between Lekma Hospital and China.
“Lekma Hospital, also known as the China-Ghana Friendship Hospital, has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with China since its grant donation in 2010,” noted Dr. Gyimah-Asante.
“Over the past decade, this partnership has been mutually beneficial, with exchange programs and visits between our staff and hospitals in China. The generous donation from WEIGAO Medical Ghana Ltd Co not only enhances our facilities but also underscores the invaluable support we continue to receive from our Chinese counterparts.” She added
