The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Electoral Commission (EC) to address their petition, demanding a forensic audit of the voter register.
Speaking on Joy FM on Tuesday, September 17, Sammy Gyamfi disclosed that, if the EC fails to address issues in their petition, they will be forced to embark on other demonstration.
“We have decided to wait for just a week to see how they would respond. It is our expectation that they would do the needful because clearly, the intransigent they are displaying is not in the interest of Ghanaians,” he said.
Sammy Gyamfi further noted that, the NDC will work with the constitution to express their grievances.
“What you saw today is just the tip of the iceberg… we are not going to pick guns, fight anybody. We are a law-abiding political party so we will do what the constitution of Ghana allows us to do thus to protest,” he added.
