The Electoral Commission (EC) has denied accusations by two women claiming that the commission is registering and undertaking transfer of votes exercise.
According to the EC, the two women purporting to be members of a political party are engaged in a calculated mischief to tarnish the image of the commission and causing disaffection for the commission in the lead up to the 2024 general elections.
In a statement signed by the deputy chairman of operations, Samuel Tettey, he stressed that the commission concluded the 2024 Limited Voter Registration Exercise on May 29, 2024 followed by the application for the transfer of votes on June 14, 2024 which was reopened and closed for public universities, prisoners as well as personnel in security agencies on July 3 to July 5 respectively.
In view of this, the commission is urging the public to disregard the claims in the video and called on the Ghana Police Service to arrest and prosecute those behind these fabrications.
