The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has apologized for the Black Stars’ elimination from the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars faced Uruguay in their third group H match and hoped to qualify from the group, having three points before the match against Uruguay from their last two games.
Meanwhile, Ghana failed to qualify after Uruguay beat them by 2-0 at the Al Janoub Stadium in Doha on Friday, December 2, 2022.
The GFA apologized in a statement to the Ghanaian government, the team’s stakeholders, and the entire country.
“We regret our inability to progress to the knockout phase of the competition and offer our profound apologies to the government, the people of Ghana and all stakeholders across the globe.
“We believe that valuable lessons have been learnt from our qualification and participation in the tournament and aim to continue with the positive going into the future.”
However, it stated that the GFA would inform the public of any developments involving the Black Stars.
