Residents of Sefwi Amoa-Krom in the Bia West District of the Western North Region, were shocked on Thursday when a young man, Francis Awuni murdered his own boss, Mr Azumah in his rice farm.
Papa Azuma Kusaasi, 45, who is the landlord, employed Francis Awuni, 22, from the Northern Region to help him in his farm.
The two have been living together for about three months when the sad incident occurred. Papa Azuma Kusaasi has three children with his wife who also live in the same village at Amoakrom, a community in the Western North Region of Ghana.
The wife had left home to the market with the children when the labourer, Francis Awuni attacked her husband. The two struggled for some time but the young man overpowered his boss and killed him with a sharp machete.
Since they were the only persons left in the village, there was no one to intervene to save the situation.
Francis Awuni, who is twenty-two years old after committing the crime kept the head of his boss in a rubber bag. It is unknown what he was seeking to use the head for but he surprisingly ran to the police and reported himself. He confessed to committing the crime and led the police to where he kept the body.
The suspect was arrested by the Bia West District Police and he confessed to killing his boss for money ritual.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Bia West Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.
