With the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources refuting claims of engaging land guards to reclaim state lands, the Ghana Police Service has also done the same in less than 24 hours.
“The Ghana Police Service has not on any occasion engaged the services of land guards to reclaim and protect its lands”, Ghana Police said in a press statement.
According to the Police, a story published on myjoyonline.com indicated that the chief director of the lands ministry at a parliamentary committee meeting on July 10, 2023, alleged that the police force procures the services of land guards to protect its lands.
The Police in a statement released on Monday, July 17, 2023, has therefore denied the allegations and stated that the service in recent weeks has intensified its anti-land guards operations in affected areas and will not stop until perpetrators are brought to justice.
