Ghanaian comedian Micheal Blackson has identified which artists in Ghana he considers as superstars.
Mr. Blackson said in an interview with N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN on the Drink Champs podcast that Nigeria is like the New York of music in Africa whiles Ghana is like the Dubai of Africa, naming Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Black Sherif as the only music superstars in Ghana.
“Nigeria has all the artists. I could name 10 of them who are stars. Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Kizz Deyu and you could go on and on.
“Nigeria is the like the New York of music and Ghana on the other hand is like the Dubai of Africa and I could only count four people from Ghana.
“We have Shatta Wale, we have Stonebwoy, we have Sarkodie, and we have Black Sherif,” he said.
He also introduced Gambo, who is the first Ghanaian artist he signed.
Gambo won the ‘Unsung Category’ at last year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and has songs like ‘Girls Girls’, No Stress and Kuacha to his credit.
