Williemays Industries, producers of Mays Crystal Purified Water, has announced a charitable initiative to support breast cancer patients at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s Breast Care Unit.
The company pledged to donate one pesewa from every bottle of Mays Crystal Water sold to assist in easing the financial burden of breast cancer treatment for patients.
The announcement was made at a brief ceremony held at Korle Bu, where Williemays Industries also made a substantial donation of their products and financial support.
The company provided 100 bags of sachet water, 30 packs of bottled water, and a cheque for GHC13,733 to aid patients undergoing treatment.
Managing Director, Mrs. Barbara Dedjoe, expressed her optimism about the partnership’s potential to positively impact the lives of patients. “We hope this initiative will provide tangible relief and improve the treatment experience for those affected by breast cancer,” Mrs. Dedjoe remarked.
Receiving the donation, Dr. Florence Dedey, a consultant at the Breast Care Unit, along with other medical personnel, extended heartfelt gratitude to Williemays Industries. She voiced hope that the company’s initiative would inspire public support, enabling more patients who struggle financially to receive necessary treatment.
Dr. Dedey highlighted the importance of such contributions and commended Mrs. Dedjoe and the company for their generous support.
The partnership marks an important step in encouraging community engagement and corporate responsibility in addressing healthcare challenges in Ghana.
