Fifteen passengers narrowly escaped death after a minibus somersaulted at Asikyire Nkwanta in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

The vehicle, a Nissan Urvan with registration number AS 6391-22, was travelling along the highway when one of its rear tyres suddenly burst.

The loud explosion caused panic, and before the driver could regain control, the bus veered off the road and somersaulted several times.

Eyewitnesses said the impact left the vehicle badly mangled, with passengers screaming for help as it rolled into a ditch.

All 15 passengers survived the crash, but eight sustained serious injuries, including broken bones and deep cuts.

Passersby rushed to the scene to rescue the victims before an ambulance and police officers arrived.

The injured were later transported to the Divine Love Hospital in Bibiani, where they are receiving treatment.
