WN/R: 4 robbers arrested at Yayaso near Semreboi

The Asankrangwa District Police Command has arrested some notorious armed robbers who have been processed for court at the Asankrangwa District Magistrate Court .

The Asankrangwa District Police Command has arrested some notorious armed robbers who have been processed for court at the Asankrangwa District Magistrate Court .

According to the brief facts read by the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Appiah Bimpong, the complainant, Mr. Micheal Eba, a small scale miner who owns Integrity Mining Company lodged a complaint at the Asankrangwa District Police Command of being robbed at YAYASO near SEMREBOI in the Amenfi-West Municipality.

The accused persons named Francis Acheampong, Samuel Amuzu, Moses Acquah, William Coffie all now at police custody.

The other robbers nick-named, Bible, More life, Bullet, Stone all at large and one Cocoa now deceased.

On 30th May, 2022 at about 1:30 am, the accused persons went to the site of Integrity Mining Company at Yayaso, attacked the security, took his gun, beat up the escavator driver and robbed them of *3 iPhones equivalent to GH¢4600.000, Gold which is equivalent to GH¢18,840.00, GH¢3000.00 cash, a bag of rice and a car battery.

According to the brief facts, the police arrested the first four (4) accused persons on their way to Asankrangwa to sell the gold.

By police intelligence, they went to arrest the others from their hide out when Cocoa started firing at the police and the police in defence also fired back of which Cocoa was shot down and on the way to the hospital with the police, he kicked the bucket.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at Enchi Government Hospital for autopsy and identification while the first four (4) accused have been ordered by court to be kept in police custody and appear before court on 6th June, 2022 to be transferred to Tarkwa Circuit Court for continuation.
