A 50-year-old man, identified as Kwasi Enning, popularly known as ‘Adiika,’ has been accused of defiling a five-year-old girl in Sefwi Aboduam.
According to reports, the incident occurred after the child’s grandmother left home for the market, leaving the girl behind to prepare for school. However, due to a lack of money, the child was unable to attend school that day.
Eyewitnesses say the young girl was playing with two other boys when they eventually left, leaving her alone.
The suspect allegedly took advantage of the situation, luring the child into her grandmother’s room, where he is said to have sexually assaulted her.
Following the incident, the victim was rushed to Greenshield Hospital for immediate medical attention. As of the time of reporting, the case had yet to be officially lodged with the police, pending the release of the medical report.
Community members have expressed outrage over the incident, calling on authorities to ensure swift justice for the victim.
Child rights advocates are also urging law enforcement agencies to take immediate action to protect children from such abuses.
