A family at Sefwi Kwasiadeakrom in the Juaboso District of the Western North region is outraged over the missing corpse of their relative, which was deposited at the Sefwi Juaboso Hospital mortuary for preservation.
The final funeral rite of the 75-year-old deceased, Mr. George Yeboah, was scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 27, 2023.
Surprisingly, when the family went to retrieve the body for burial, the facility authorities were unable to provide it on the day of the funeral.
This infuriated the family members, who then complained to the local chief, who then decided to step in.
Managers of the facility said the body might have been mistakenly exchanged with another by a bereaved family among the dozens that had earlier come for their corpse, hence the need for tracing to identify the whereabout of the corpse.
According to sources, the hospital authorities were unable to meet the demands of the bereaved family following an agreed payment to compensate the family for their missing corpse.
