The Police in the Western North Region have arrested two persons with a white sprinter bus with 41 slabs of plant material suspected to be narcotic drugs (Indian hemp).
On March 25, Inspr. Thomas Manu, in charge of four (4) personnel on barrier duty at the Bibiani Kwamekrom barrier, during a routine stop and search operation, intercepted a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus with registration number AW-674-20, driven by suspect Kumah Abraham, aged 26 years, with Dawudu Apogre, aged 20 years, as the driver’s mate.
A search conducted on the vehicle led to the discovery of a blue, white, and orange striped “Ghana-must-go” bag concealed in the boot.
The bag contained twenty (20) double slabs and one (1) single slab, making a total of forty-one (41) compressed slabs of plant material suspected to be narcotic drugs (Indian hemp), all wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.
During interrogation, the driver, Kumah Abraham, admitted ownership of the consignment and stated that it was handed over to him by an unidentified person at Siekwa in the Bono Region, to be delivered to another unidentified person at Nyamebekyere in the Western Region.
