The Western North Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service after several weeks of investigation and intelligence operations, have successfully arrested five suspects who are members of a gang believed to be behind most robberies in and around Sefwi Bekwai.
This forms part of their commitment to combat crime and ensuring security, law and order in the area.
At approximately 12:30 pm on December 3, 2025, the Western North Regional Command arrested five suspects at Sefwi-Wiawso.
The arrest was made during a patrol at Sefwi-Wiawso and surrounding communities.
According to the Ghana Police Service at Mpesiem Police Check Point, the suspects were on an unregistered motorcycle. The suspects did not stop when ordered to, so they were pursued and arrested.
Interrogation of the three suspects led to the arrest of the remaining two.
A search at their residence yielded additional items including talismans and face masks.
All five suspects are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations.
They have been remanded for two weeks.
The Police have therefore cautioned all persons involved in any criminal activities that they will be found and arrested.
