With just nine days to the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Ghana’s goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot has reportedly sustained an injury during a warm-up session for his League One side Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The latest development has cast doubt over the 26-year-old’s dream of representing his national team at the World Cup.

According to the manager of Charlton Ben Garner, he hopes the injury is not anything serious.

“We’re praying for good news. He’s got a scan as soon as we get back to London. He just caught one on the end of his finger. We’re just hoping it’s a ligament or something like that. A little sprain in there.

“We’re just praying for good news. He’s due to fly out tomorrow and join up with Ghana. Hopefully, we get good news”, he said.

Black stars coach Otto Addo is yet to announce his final squad on Monday, November 14, 2022.

The Black stars will begin their campaign with a match against Portugal on November 24, 2022.
