Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially unveiled the campaign team tasked with securing his bid for the national chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The announcement follows an extensive period of nationwide consultation that has solidified his standing as a frontrunner in the upcoming internal contest.

The newly formed team represents a strategic blend of veteran political figures and rising leaders within the party.

Leading the charge as campaign chairman is Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the former Majority Chief Whip and former MP for Sunyani East.

He is supported by George Boahen Oduro, a former deputy minister for food and agriculture, who takes on the role of campaign manager.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the campaign noted that the structure reflects the deep-rooted goodwill and confidence Wontumi enjoys across various party levels.

The leadership expressed a firm belief in the “competence, experience, and collective capacity of the team to prosecute a disciplined, issue-driven, and successful campaign”.

The roster includes several high-profile names such as George Mireku Duker, Hon. Dr Stephen Amoah, and Sarah Adwoa Safo, all of whom bring significant legislative and administrative experience to the table.

Their involvement is seen as a move to unify the party’s grassroots and intellectual wings.

Chairman Wontumi emphasised that his vision is anchored on “party unity, organisational strengthening, and grassroots mobilisation”.

He further noted that the ultimate goal of this campaign is “repositioning the New Patriotic Party for victory in the 2028 general elections”.

Other key appointments include Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, David Boakye, and Pope Yao Yevoo and Akua Afriyie as the official spokespersons and Hon. Justina Marigold Assan as an aide, ensuring that the campaign’s communication and operational logistics are managed by seasoned professionals.

With the team now public, the Wontumi camp is expected to intensify its engagement with delegates across the country.
