Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson has sent a message to the youths of Nigeria, asking them to work diligently and not rely on any leader for help.

According to Mr., Blackson, no president can make a person successful but hard work.

“This message is to anyone that’s not happy with who their president is. You can’t live your life depending on a president just work hard and let God be your leader. You can’t depend on a president for you to be successful in life,” he wrote on Twitter.

This comes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of f Nigeria’s presidential election on Wednesday.

Official results show that All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer Tinubu, garnered 8.8 million votes, representing 37 percent of total ballots cast, whiles the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar won 29 percent with almost seven million and third-place Peter Obi who led the Labour Party, had about 6.1 million votes, representing 25 percent.

However, many young men and women in Nigeria have shown dissatisfaction over Tinubu’s win, as their favourite candidate Peter Obi could not win.

It is on the back of this that the comedian has asked the youths to focus on themselves and work hard if they want to succeed.
