The Founder and Executive Chairman of African Prosperity Network, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has advised Africans to work collectively to create a liberalized market for economic growth.
He made this statement during the third day of the African Prosperity Dialogue at the Peduase Presidential Lodge in the Eastern region of Ghana on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
According to him, when nations come together, they deliberate on ideas and the knowledge acquired through the interaction can be beneficial to each other.
“I have a saying that, I would rather have 10 percent of hundred, than 100 of 100. What it means is that I share my risks. It means that I share my knowledge, and then we bring together our Collective knowledge. Whether I have the 10 percent of the hundred the address with the other 10 will bring their knowledge their expertise And then we benefit together”, he said.
He reiterated that the purpose of the dialogue is for African business leaders in collaboration with political leaders to discuss possible ways to implement strategies for intra-Africa trade.
“We are here today to give implementation to what the political leaders gave us in Kigali. They’ve given us a roadmap to unite and unite us through economic empowerment and integration.
And if that is to happen, politicians will not make it happen. It is the business leaders. And in this room, there are business leaders from North of Africa, there are business leaders from East Africa, there are business leaders from West Africa, there are business leaders from Southern Africa, there are business leaders from Central Africa. And, of course, there are business leaders from global Africa”, he added.
Mr. Otchere-Darko emphasized that if all these Business Leaders begin to see themselves as one unit, to think together, plan together, work together with urgency and deliver the promise and roadmap that has been offered to them by the political leaders, he thinks, Africans will get there.
