Guarantted Solution Center, a trusted partner of international tech company Yango, has held safety training for its drivers at a workshop in Accra.
The training which was under the theme ‘’”Driving Success: Safely & Efficiently on Yango”’ took place on the 23rd of January at the Achimota Girls Guide Centre. It was geared towards empowering Yango partner drivers with the skills and knowledge to enhance customer satisfaction, safety and overall job performance.
Speaking at the workshop, David Akoto, the CEO of Guarantted Solution Center (Yango Partner) emphasized the need to regularly train and enhance the skills of drivers as they form an integral part of the ride-hail value chain.
He said ‘’We are very interested in the welfare of our drivers. Importantly, their safety and well-being as they execute their daily tasks and strive to generate income for themselves is something we pay close attention to. We believe that regularly training them on road regulations and safety features on the Yango app goes a long way in making them safe and efficient while working. As such we try to organize such trainings in partnership with Yango every quarter and we invite resource persons from major security and health agencies to also educate the drivers on how to stay safe on the road.’’
The workshop also included education on utilizing the Yango app safety features effectively, education on vehicle and life Insurance as well as Financial education. The National Road Safety Authority also enlightened drivers about Road safety standards and procedures. The TrafficTech department of the MTTD took the drivers through the important road traffic laws and regulations while representatives from Yango took time to educate the drivers on Troubleshooting Common App Issues.
Joseph Amponsah, a driver with Guarantted Solution Center (Yango Partner) and a beneficiary of the training also highlighted the importance of receiving such training regularly. He noted ‘’ I have learnt a lot today and I must say as a driver, you can never know it all on the road. For example how to check if a car tyre has expired or not, how to regularly go for health check ups and the new safety features on the Yango pro app as well. I’m happy I came for this training and I will use all the knowledge acquired to stay safe on the road while protecting the riders as well’’.
On their part, Yango reassured the partner and all drivers of its unflinching support and commitment towards ensuring their safety and general wellbeing. The company also highlighted plans to introduce new and advanced safety features in addition to the already existing list of features for both partner drivers and riders. Yango encouraged the drivers to work diligently while striving to earn a living as the company also continues in its effort to provide income-generating opportunities for them through technology.
