The President of a Kumasi Based Non Governmental Organization (NGO), MAG- TWINS EAGLE FOUNDATION, Patricia Kwarteng has descended on the Local Government Ministry describing them as “Killer” of local initiatives.

According to her, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has decided not to support any initiatives from private institutions which adds up to the increasing unemployment in the country.

MAG – TWINS EAGLE FOUNDATION which uses sachet rubbers to manufacture dust bins and mathematical sets for schools and also organizes clean-up exercise in the Ashanti Region has called on the Ministry to show more commitment of supporting initiatives from private organisations.

Madam Patricia Kwarteng in an Interview with the media made reference to a demoralising statement by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Dan Kwaku Botwe that “Ghanaians in Diaspora has nothing to help the country but they always Chant #FixTheCountry”.

To her, the demeaning comment by the Minister is unfortunate and must be retracted.

She revealed that, her Foundation organizes sanitation workshop for students, free distribution of mathematical sets and dust bins to schools for free but the Government has not offered them any support.

She, therefore called on the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to support their initiatives.
