The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has categorically denied that the alleged audio tape of Attorney General Godfred Dame and Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ambulance case, released by the opposition National Democratic Congress, was doctored.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, May 28 at the party’s headquarters, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), National Organizer, lamented that, the said audio tape by the opposition NDC was “cut and pieced together” to manipulate Ghanaians.

“The NDC today addressed a press conference and released what is believed to be their evidence. Clearly, you could see that it was doctored. It’s a manipulated tape. It is a cut and pieced-together tape, thrown out to create a certain impression. And we are here to respond to these evil-minded persons,” he said.

However, the Director of Legal Affairs for the NPP, Frank Davies, urged the NDC to refrain from actions that could undermine the integrity of Ghana’s judicial system.

“If it is the firm belief of the NDC and Ato Forson that no loss had occasioned the state from his conduct, then they should remain faithful to our judicial system and cease these malicious orchestrations targeted at bastardising our judicial system to prevent him from standing trial to a conclusion, they should just keep quiet and allow proceedings in court to continue,” he stated.
