You’ve been bribed if you can’t enforce Ofori-Atta’s removal – C-DAG to NPP MPs

The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (C-DAG) has resurrected calls by Ghanaians and some Parliamentarians demanding the immediate removal of Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta in 2023.

The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (C-DAG) has resurrected calls by Ghanaians and some Parliamentarians demanding the immediate removal of Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta in 2023.

According to the association, they have given the 80 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament who demanded the removal of Ken Ofori Atta to the end of January 2023 to enforce their action.

“And any failure to resurrect your demands to remove the Finance Minister shall be deemed as a compromise and bribed and we shall not hesitate to invoke traditional curses on you,” they stated.

“In the spirit of this, we expect that you ensure his removal before the end of this month.”

“We will be a force to block the road anywhere we spot any of you and ensure that you are been hooted at because Ghana is sinking and we believe it must take our collective effort to put the country back on track.”

According to the association, the incompetence of the minister has been written on the walls and Ghanaians feel the brunt of the outcome which is an unprecedented economic hardship.

In a release on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, signed by the National Chairman, Mr. Paa Williams, said the association described his gross incompetence as the cause of Ghana’s economic problem and therefore the President must not keep him at post but rather do the needful.

“We are battling with the situation of a frail currency, high inflation rates and unstable prices for petrol. All these are factors that have made it difficult for us to live and take proper care of our families.

“We would want to remind the President that he pleaded for his cousin to be allowed a stay in office because the IMF negotiations were ongoing.

“As of now, both parties’ negotiations are over and we are extremely sure that any other person can take over and supervise the IMF program as well as the ministry’s activities,” he stated.

The association said Ghanaians can no longer accept Ken Ofori Atta as Minister of Finance regardless and any attempt to keep him shall be meted with a fierce revolt.

“To the majority side of Parliament, particularly to the 80 members who openly declared that their constituents want Ofori Atta removed, we wish to remind you that you are in Parliament not for yourselves but for the people,” he stated.

C-DAG said what happened in 2022 attested to the fact that Ghanaians have already passed the verdict on Ken Ofori-Atta and you have no business but to make sure that he is removed from office.

“We do not want to believe that you backtracked your decision because of the alleged attempted bribe on you by a certain businessman but we rather believe you only softened your stance as a result of the President’s plea and for now you’ll fully support our call for the sacking of the finance minister.”
