The Ghana Statistical Service assessment on complete coverage of 2021 Population and Housing Census indicate that,15 Regions in the country cross 99% completion with the exception of Greater Accra with 93%.
Meanwhile, enumeration has concluded in all districts except for 8 districts yet to reach 95% completion rate.
The 8 districts are all in the Greater Accra Region and they are comprises of Ga West, Kpone Katamanso, Ga North, Adentan Municipal, La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal, Ga East, Tema West and Ledzokuku.
At a press briefing on the update of the 2021 Population & Housing Census, the Government Statistician, Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim disclosed that, Household Validation and correction of errors are currently ongoing.
Ghana Statistical Service he mentioned, would withdraw from the field on 8th August, 2021 and bring the data collection for the 2021 PHC to conclusion.
“Between now and 8th August, we want all persons who have not yet been counted to come out and say they have not been counted”.
Prof. Annim appeal to the general public to use the official channel for reporting on toll-free number 0800-426-426, or 059-147-8695, 020-685-0157059-959-147-6893, 059-147-6884, 020-685-0157, and 055-1625567.
“The period between now and 8tu August will be used for correction of errors and quality assurance sport checks nationwide. Quality assurance data using precious census. Members of the public should expect census officials to visit households or call to verify data collected by enumerators”.
He expressed appreciation to the general public for their cooperation during the exercise likewise, all Census Officials, Field Officers, stakeholders and respondents who have contributed to help bring the data collection exercise to a successful end.
