Senegal have qualified for the round of 16 stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup following a win against Ecuador becoming the first African side to qualify in this year’s World Cup.
Senegal rightly took the lead in the first half after Ismaila Sarr was fouled by an Ecuadorian player, earning him a penalty kick.
Ecuador dominated most in the second half of the game and got an equalizer in the 68th minute through Moises Caicedo.
But just two minutes after, the captain of Senegal Kalidou Koulibaly restored the lead for Aliou Cisse’s side.
The reigning African Champions finished second in the group with 6 points and is expected to meet England should they finish top of group B.
